All Three KCRCC-Endorsed NIC Candidates Lost
Voters replaced every KCRCC trustee on the ballot. Greg McKenzie lost to Eve Knudtsen 44% to 56% in Zone 4. William Lyons lost to Rick Durbin 48% to 52% in Zone 3. Michael Angiletta lost to Mary Havercroft 49% to 51% in Zone 5. Combined with Todd Banducci not seeking re-election, the result removed all three KCRCC trustees from the board. NIC returned to full accreditation in 2025.
What Happened
Between 2018 and 2022, the KCRCC placed three endorsed candidates on the North Idaho College Board of Trustees: Todd Banducci (Zone 3), Gregory McKenzie (Zone 4), and Mike Waggoner (Zone 5). Together they formed a 3-of-5 majority that fired the college president without cause, drove out senior administrators, triggered a federal accreditation investigation, and brought the college within a board vote of losing accreditation entirely. No Idaho college has ever lost accreditation.
